Addiction is a disease recognised by the WHO and should be seen as such: chronic and progressive. As with any disease, it is important to know its causes, effects and how it affects them, so during treatment patients will have to demonstrate what they have studied and learnt about their addiction.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;62px&#8221;][vc_column_text]<strong>The importance of changing:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Any treatment works not because of its duration but above all because of what is done during treatment. For change to happen, more important than the length of treatment is the creation of conditions for change: the learning and action that is put in place. You get out of recovery what you put in: a lot or a little. The results of inner change are the result of the work done by the patient and the entire therapeutic team, together with the development of an integration and post-treatment plan. Whenever possible, the family is invited to take part in family sessions with the aim of learning how to deal with the consequences and issues that arise from these problematic experiences.
